Junior Giscombe, known professionally as Junior, is a British singer-songwriter best known for his 1982 hit single Mama Used to Say, which became a Top 10 hit in the UK and the US. Born in London, Junior was one of the first British R&B artists to achieve success in the American market. His soulful voice and fusion of funk, soul, and pop helped him gain recognition during the early 1980s. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with various artists, including Phil Lynott and Kim Wilde, and has continued to release music and perform.
ROSE WINDROSS
Rose Windross is a British singer, songwriter, and pioneer of the UK soul and dance music scene. She is best known as the original lead vocalist of Soul II Soul, having recorded the track Fairplay on their debut album Club Classics Vol. One (1989). With a background in reggae and soul, Windross has also worked extensively as a songwriter and collaborator in the UK dance, house, and jungle music scenes. Over the years, she has continued to perform and contribute to the evolution of British Black music.
